SPOTTED ON SHELVES – 2/18/2013

Here are some interesting new and limited edition products found on store shelves by us and your fellow readers.

South Beach Diet Good to Go Bars

I want to find EVERY South Beach Diet Good to Go Bars with extra fiber box and change the front of the box to say, “Got to Go Bars” (Spotted by Adam at Weis.)

Dreyer's Caramel Coconut Cookie ice cream

I’m probably wrong about this, but I’m going to guess the old name of this ice cream was either Coconut Cookie Caramel or Vanilla Ice Cream with Stuff In It. (Spotted by Linda at Safeway.)

Chobani Bite Yogurt

Wow. Until I saw this photo, it never occurred to me that caramel might taste good with pineapple. Maybe I should stop avoiding the pineapples at the farmer’s market, get me some caramel, and try it out. Or skip the pain of cutting up a pineapple and just eat the caramel. (Spotted by Linda at Safeway.)

Crazy Apples

Grape-flavored apples and a bubblegum-flavored apples aren’t crazy. What would be crazy is an apple that didn’t have any seeds or stem because it was created in a laboratory by mad scientists who wanted to make their own food incase there’s a nuclear war that makes the ground unfit for vegetation. (Spotted by Angel at Publix.)

SPOTTED ON SHELVES – 2/15/2013

Here are some interesting new and limited edition products found on store shelves by us and your fellow readers.

Limited Edition Lucky Charms with Green Clovers

I hope this Limited Edition Lucky Charms with Green Clovers cereal turns milk green, so that it makes it possible to start your St. Patrick’s Day with green milk and end it with green beer. (Spotted by Kelcey at Pathmark.)

Doritos Jacked Ranch Dipped Buffalo Wings

These Doritos Jacked Ranch Dipped Hot Wings were available early last year, but it seemed like they were available in limited markets. Recently, I’ve seen it pop up on store shelves here on this rock in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, so it could be that they’ve rolled it out nationwide this year. (Spotted by Jonathan at Weis Markets.)

Betty Crocker Sweet Rewards Buttercream Bites

Thank goodness there are chocolatey Betty Crocker treats I don’t need to mix, bake, put a toothpick through, and cool down before eating. (Spotted by Anneliese at 7-Eleven.)

Dark Choco Strawberry Mini Musketeers

I’m sorry. Perhaps it would’ve been better if I let you know about these 3 Musketeers Strawberry with Dark Chocolate before Valentine’s Day. But now that it’s after Valentine’s Day, you might be able to pick some up at a deep discount. So I take back my apology and say, “You’re welcome.” (Spotted by Linda at Target.)

Honey Maid Angry Birds

Here’s a birds and bees combination that doesn’t involve any awkwardness. (Spotted by Marvo at Safeway.)

SPOTTED ON SHELVES – 2/13/2013

Here are some interesting new and limited edition products found on store shelves by us and your fellow readers.

Lay's Sriracha

Lay's Cheesy Garlic Bread

Lay's Chicken and Waffles

Here are the Lay’s Do Us a Flavor Finalists! We already reviewed the Lay’s Chicken & Waffles Potato Chips. Sriracha is definitely interesting. And Cheesy Garlic Bread makes me yearn for breadsticks. Update: Here’s our Sriracha and Cheesy Garlic Bread reviews. (Spotted by Adam at Weis.)

Sweet & Spicy BBQ SunChips

The number of Sun Chips flavors hasn’t grown much over the years, so it’s nice to see a new flavor. Perhaps, Sun Chips should get more sunlight and water to help them grow. (Spotted by Andy at Coborn’s.)

Cheetos Mix Ups Cheezy Salsa Mix

What’s with the Z replacing the S in Cheetos Mix-Ups Cheezy Salsa Mix? Does Chester Cheetah have to prove how cool he is by trading those letters? I just hope there isn’t another Cheetos Mix-Ups flavor with the butchered word “Xtra” in its name. (Spotted by Jonathan at Weis.)

Cheetos Mix-Ups Xtra Cheezy Mix

Well, all rightie then. (Spotted by Adam at Weis.)

Yoplait Strawberry Blast Pro-Force

When I think of Pro-Force, I don’t think of yogurt for kids. Instead I think of police gear, martial arts gear, cleaning products, debris blowers, and temporary staffing agencies. (Spotted by Marvo at Safeway.)

SPOTTED ON SHELVES – 2/11/2013

Here are some interesting new and limited edition products found on store shelves by us and your fellow readers.

Oreo Mega Stuff

A few years ago I dreamt about Oreo coming out with Oreo cookies with thicker filling, but in my dream it was called Quad Stuf. And in the same dream I imagined Gillette came out with a new razor called OchoRazo. (Spotted by Max at Stop and Shop.)

Golden Oreo Mega Stuf

Also, in the same dream, there were Golden Oreo Quad Stuf cookies made out of real gold, but were on sale for $3.99. Then I kept asking Cap’n Crunch if I should buy them all because they were so cheap. He said I should because he had a lot of room on his ship. (Spotted by Christian at Stater Brothers.)

Dole Banana Dippers

Wait a minute. These Dole Banana Dippers have already been dipped. Shouldn’t they be called Dole Banana Dippeders? (Spotted by Melissa at Publix.)

YoCrunch Waffle Bites

Great breakfast combo, eh? I can think of a greater breakfast combo — eggs, bacon, hash browns, orange juice to wash down high blood pressure medication, and the daily Jumble puzzle. (Spotted by Linda at Safeway.)

YoCrunch Yopa! with Dark Chocolate

YoCrunch needs to make a Yopa! Greek yogurt with Chips Ahoy! or Wild! Strawberry Pop-Tarts. (Spotted by Marvo at Safeway.)

SPOTTED ON SHELVES (STORE BRAND EDITION) – 2/8/2013

Here are some interesting new and limited edition store brand products found on store shelves by us and your fellow readers.

Archer Farms Sweet Potato Tortilla Chips

At a quick glance you may think these are sweet potato chips, but they’re not. They are sweet potato-flavored tortilla chips. I wish they were sweet potato chips. (Spotted by Marvo at Target.)

IMG_1264

I’m pretty sure it takes more than a coffee called Cupid’s Blend to win someone’s heart. It probably involves cooking the rest of the breakfast to go along with the coffee. (Spotted by Marvo at Target.)

Thanks, Target. Thanks for making your snack bar aisle more of a clusterfluff. But seriously, these look kind of good. (Spotted by Marvo at Target.)

Doesn’t pasta do enough for us? They give us carbs, make Italian restaurant menus much more fun to read, and if I have more than ten in my pantry, they make me look like a foodie. Do we have to make them provide us with calcium, vitamin D, and fiber? (Spotted by Marvo at Safeway.)
