2016 SEASON OF GIVING (DAY 4): $5 Target Gift Card

Target offered a number of big time exclusive flavors this year, like Blueberry Pie Oreo Cookies, White Boo-tterscotch M&M’s, and, of course, the biggest of them all, Mint Chip Brownie Larabar.

2016 SEASON OF GIVING (DAY 3): $5 Wendy’s Gift Card

IMG 0480

Unlike the other gift cards we’re giving away, the card above has been in my possession for a while. I’m talking a year or two. I’m not sure how I got it, but the card says it does not expire and no fees will be charged for not using it. So I think we’re good to go. I could’ve used it, but I’m too lazy to drive the 8.5 miles to my nearest Wendy’s. So my laziness is your gain.

It was an interesting year at Wendy’s. The fast food chain brought back their Taco Salad, it jumped on the sriracha bandwagon with a side dish and chicken sandwich topped with a sriracha aioli, and it offered a new summer salad with berries.

2016 SEASON OF GIVING (DAY 2): $10 Panda Express Gift Card

IMG 0476

To be honest, I wanted this to be a $5 Panda Express Gift Card, but $10 was the minimum amount. I guess that makes sense since you can’t really buy much at the fast food chain with that much money. A two-entree plate costs $8, and I think a one-entree bowl is $6.50. Maybe you could buy a lot of fortune cookies with $5. Are the fortune cookies available for purchase?

The biggest release for Panda Express this year was its own version of General Tso’s Chicken, an iconic American Chinese dish. The chain also introduced a new shrimp dish, the Pacific Chili Shrimp, not an iconic American Chinese dish.

2016 SEASON OF GIVING (DAY 1): $5 Starbucks Gift Card

IMG 0474

Starbucks did a lot of interesting things this year. The coffee chain started 2016 with changes to its rewards program, which ended up angering a lot of customers. And it’s ending the year with the announcement of CEO Howard Schultz stepping down from the position in April 2017.

In between those two events, Starbucks released new drinks, like the Cherry Blossom Frappuccino, Chile Mocha, Iced Coconut Milk Mocha Macchiato, and, of course, the Pokemon GO Frappuccino.

ANNOUNCEMENT: It’s The Impulsive Buy’s Season of Giving (2016 Edition)

About this time every year, we…

Wait, let me double check something.

(searches TIB)

About this time almost every year, we hold a prize drawing to give away gift cards because it’s the season of giving gift cards. This year, we’re doing something, but a little different. In the past it was just one prize drawing, but this year there will be multiple drawings.

Twelve to be exact, which will be spread out over 12 days. And that begins tomorrow, December 14. Oh, I just realized it’s like the Twelve Days of Christmas. Except there’s only one gift card every day, no gold rings, no geese, and none of you are my true loves.

Okay, so I guess it’s not at all like the Twelve Days of Christmas.

The gift cards are from twelve different stores and fast food chains. You’ll have to visit the blog every day to find out what’s being offered.

The title of these posts will begin with “2016 SEASON OF GIVING.” Because we’re having a new drawing every day, we’ll be accepting entries (via the comments) for each gift card for only a 24 hour period. The prize drawing posts will go up at 12:00 a.m. Hawaii Standard Time (2:00 a.m. Pacific, 5:00 a.m. Eastern) and once the 24 hours have passed, the comments for that post will close. The winner will be announced in the days that follow.

As with all our prize drawings, it’s only open to U.S. residents and those who are 18 years old or older.

Good luck!
