FAST FOOD NEWS: Hardee’s Bacon Velveeta Patty Meltdown

Hardee s Bacon Velvet Patty Meltdown

It would be insane if Hardee’s got blocks of Velveeta, cut them into 1/2-inch slices, and turned those slices into the burger’s buns for their new Hardee’s Bacon Velveeta Patty Meltdown. Instead, it just has grilled sourdough bread that’s topped with a charbroiled 100 percent Black Angus beef patty, Applewood-smoked bacon pieces, grilled onions, regular slices of Velveeta cheese, and mayonnaise.

It’s available with either a 1/4-, 1/3- or 1/2 lb Black Angus beef patty and its price starts at $4.79 at participating locations. You can get a $1 off coupon for any size Bacon Velveeta Patty Meltdown combo by visiting hardees.com/coupons.

FAST FOOD NEWS: Krispy Kreme Triple Chocolate Doughnut

Krispy Kreme Triple Chocolate Doughnut

Krispy Kreme’s new Triple Chocolate Doughnut features a yeast shell filled with dark chocolate creme that’s topped with milk chocolate icing, mini chocolate chips, and a white chocolate ganache drizzle.

Um, wait a minute. My fast food math is a little rusty, but doesn’t dark chocolate creme, milk chocolate icing, mini chocolate chips, and white chocolate ganache drizzle equal four different chocolate things. So shouldn’t this doughnut be called the Quadruple Chocolate Doughnut?

The Quadruple Chocolate Doughnut is available for a limited time at participating U.S. and Canadian locations.

FAST FOOD NEWS: Popeyes Ghost Pepper Wings

Popeyes Ghost Pepper Wings

Heat your mouth while the rest of your body freezes this winter with Popeyes new Ghost Pepper Wings. The ghost pepper, otherwise known as the bhut jolokia, was once the hottest pepper in the world. But now it’s the third hottest pepper in the world and has made its way into the fast food world.

Popeyes Ghost Pepper Wings aren’t the first ghost pepper product from a major fast food chain. Earlier this year, Jack in the Box came out with a chicken sandwich that used a ghost pepper ranch sauce.

To infuse their wings with ghost pepper flavor, Popeyes marinates them for 12 hours in a blend of peppers that includes the ghost pepper. Then their wingettes and drumettes are battered and breaded in a southern style crispy coating and fried.

Popeyes Ghost Pepper Wings are available now through January 25 at participating locations. You can get six wings with a buttermilk biscuit and buttermilk ranch dipping sauce for $3.99. They are also available as a combo meal or a 12-piece box.

FAST FOOD NEWS: Arby’s King’s Hawaiian Fish Deluxe Sandwich and Jalapeño Hushpuppies

Arby s King s Hawaiian Fish Deluxe Sandwich

On the Arby’s website, their new King’s Hawaiian Fish Deluxe is described as follows:

“Arby’s went the extra mile on the King’s Hawaiian Fish Deluxe. Sweet, fluffy buns from Hawaii and crispy, wild-caught Alaskan Pollock combine to make a fish sandwich that earns the name Deluxe.?”

If you’re super excited about the buns coming from Hawaii, I’m going to have to burst your pineapple, because King’s Hawaiian products aren’t made in Hawaii. Those sweet, fluffy buns come from California. Also, that pineapple I just popped most likely came from either Asia or South America, not Hawaii.

The sandwich also features a crispy wild-caught Alaskan Pollock fillet, cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, and tartar sauce. It’s available for a limited time.

Arby s Jalapeno Hushpuppies

Arby’s is also offering, for a limited time, their new Jalapeño Hushpuppies. They have a crispy exterior and soft interior with diced jalapeño peppers.

The King’s Hawaiian Fish Deluxe has 790 calories, 36 grams of fat, 12 grams of saturated fat, 1 gram of trans fat, 125 milligrams of cholesterol, 1140 milligrams of sodium, 89 grams of carbohydrates, 3 grams of fiber, 24 grams of sugar, and 28 grams of protein. FAST FOOD NEWS: Carl’s Jr. All-Natural Burger

Carl s Jr All Natural Burger

On December 17, Carl’s Jr. locations will be offering the All-Natural Burger that features an all-natural, grass-fed, free-range beef patty with no added hormones, antibiotics, or steroids. With the introduction of this new patty, Carl’s Jr. will be the first major fast food chain to offer an all-natural beef patty. Although, they won’t be available until the 17th, so it would be funny if one of the other major fast food chains snuck an all-natural beef patty onto their menu on December 16.

Along with the all-natural beef patty, the All-Natural Burger is also made up of a slice of natural cheddar cheese, vine-ripened tomatoes, lettuce, red onions, bread-and-butter pickles, ketchup, mustard, and mayo on Carl’s Jr.’s Fresh Baked Bun.

A single patty All-Natural Burger will be available for $4.69 and a double will go for $6.99 at participating locations. Carl’s Jr. customers can also substitute the patty on any burger on the menu with the all-natural patty for an additional charge.
