FAST FOOD NEWS: Taco Bell Sriracha Quesarito and Snapple Lemonade Freeze

Taco Bell Sriracha Quesarito

Update: We reviewed it! Click here for our Taco Bell Sriracha Quesarito review.

Taco Bell is the latest company to join the sriracha craze that has been going on for the past two years. Their contribution is the Sriracha Quesarito. It’s a burrito that’s stuffed with seasoned beef, Latin rice, Taco Bell’s own sriracha sauce, and reduced-fat sour cream, and then that’s wrapped up in a grilled quesadilla with melted cheese and more sriracha sauce.

The Sriracha Quesarito has 650 calories, 32 grams of fat, 12 grams of saturated fat, 0.5 grams of trans fat, 55 milligrams of cholesterol, 1720 milligrams of sodium, 68 grams of carbohydrates, 6 grams of fiber, 7 grams of sugar, and 22 grams of protein.

Taco Bell Snapple Lemonade Freeze

If the sriracha burns your mouth and you need something to cool it down, Taco Bell is also now offering the Snapple Lemonade Freeze. The tart, tangy, and sweet slush is available in two sizes — 16 and 20 ounces. It has 240 calories, 0 grams of fat, 70 milligrams of sodium, 59 grams of carbohydrates, and 59 grams of sugar.

If you’ve tried either one, let us know what you think of it in the comments.

FAST FOOD NEWS: Arby’s Turkey Rachel

Arby s Turkey Rachel

Before today, the only Rachels I knew of were characters on TV named Rachel (Rachel in Friends and Rachel in Glee) and The Rachel hairstyle. But today I learned about the Rachel sandwich. Thanks, Arby’s!

Arby’s Turkey Rachel features roast turkey, swiss cheese, Thousand Island dressing, Swiss cheese, and Arby’s housemade coleslaw on marble rye bread. The housemade coleslaw is made with shredded cabbage and carrots in a creamy dressing. The sandwich is a variation of the Reuben sandwich, which has corned beef and sauerkraut instead of roast turkey and coleslaw.

You can also order Arby’s Turkey Rachel with twice the turkey. It and Arby’s Reuben are available for a limited time.

A Turkey Rachel has 720 calories, 33 grams of fat, 7 grams of saturated fat, 0.5 grams of trans fat, 85 milligrams of cholesterol, 1850 milligrams of sodium, 66 grams of carbohydrates, 5 grams of fiber, 11 grams of sugar, and 40 grams of protein.

If you’ve tried it, let us know what you think of it in the comments.

FAST FOOD NEWS: KFC Southern Chicken Rice Bowls

KFC Southern Chicken Rice Bowls

The photo of the KFC Southern Chicken Rice Bowls poster was sent in by Impulsive Buy reader RaveGyrl. She took it at a KFC location on the south side of Chicago.

The KFC Southern Chicken Rice Bowls appear to be like KFC’s Famous Bowls and all its ilk, except the mashed potatoes are replaced with rice. Both varieties shown have a shredded cheese blend, green onions, rice, and, maybe, gravy. The bowl in the photo directly below looks like it has diced tomatoes on top and uses KFC’s Popcorn Nuggets. The bottom photo appears to have a different type of chicken.

FAST FOOD NEWS: McDonald’s Chipotle BBQ Shakin’ Flavor Seasoning

McDonald's Chipotle BBQ Flavor Seasoning

Last year, McDonald’s began testing their Shakin’ Flavor Seasoning in St. Louis and in parts of California. It was originally offered with French fries, but was later an option with Chicken McNuggets. How the Shakin’ Flavor Seasoning works is explained in the image above.

French fry seasoning packets aren’t new to McDonald’s, they’re a popular item in the Asian market. Here in the U.S., the seasoning packets originally came in three flavors — Garlic Parmesan, Spicy Buffalo, and Zesty Ranch. But McDonald’s has also been testing a Chipotle BBQ flavor.

Testing has been going on for almost a year, but there hasn’t been any news of plans to roll out McDonald’s Shakin’ Flavor Seasoning nationwide.

If you’ve tried any of the flavors, share your thoughts in the comments.
