FAST FOOD NEWS: McDonald’s McCafe French Toast Muffins

McDonald's McCafe French Toast Muffins

Impulsive Buy reader Candice H sent in this photo of an ad for their local McDonald’s in Amherst, Ohio. It features a photo of a new McCafé Muffin flavor — French Toast.

The fast food chain has been offering muffins for a while, but they seem to be part of either a long term test or a regional rollout. There’s no information about the new French Toast Muffin on the McDonald’s website. All we have is this photo that allows us to dream what it’ll taste like, which I can only imagine is maple, cinnamon, and a little bit of egg.

If you’ve seen it at your local McDonald’s or tried it, let us know in the comments.

FAST FOOD NEWS: Starbucks Pokémon GO Frappuccino

Starbucks Pokemon GO Frappuccino

Are you still playing Pokémon GO? If so, yesterday, approximately 7,800 Starbucks locations in the U.S. turned into PokéStops or Gyms. Since I don’t play Pokémon GO, I have no idea what the previous sentence means.

If you do visit a Starbucks while playing Pokémon GO, you can catch the new Starbucks Pokémon GO Frappuccino. Also, remember to look up from your screen so you don’t run into anyone with hot coffee in their hands.

The blended beverage combines a Vanilla Bean Frappuccino, raspberry syrup, and freeze-dried blackberries, all of which is topped with whipped cream. It’s available for a limited time at participating Starbucks stores.

FAST FOOD NEWS: Dave’s Cherry Cream Soda Only at Wendy’s

Dave's Cherry Cream Soda Only at Wendy's

Long time Impulsive Buy reader Rich sent us this photo of a Coca-Cola Freestyle machine offering regular and diet versions of Dave’s Cherry Cream Soda at a Wendy’s location in Cincinnati. As you can see on the screen, the flavor is a Wendy’s exclusive.

There currently isn’t any information about the soft drink on the Wendy’s website. It might be in the testing phase right now. If you’ve seen the flavor at your local Wendy’s, let us know in the comments.

Special Coca-Cola Freestyle flavors are something we saw last year when Burger King and other chains offered holiday flavors.

FAST FOOD NEWS: Checkers and Rally’s A.1. Buttery Steak Burger

Checkers and Rally s A 1 Buttery Steak Burger

Perhaps the #1 condiment fast food chains use on burgers other than the standard ketchup, mustard, and mayonnaise is A.1. Steak Sauce. Burger King, Arby’s, White Castle, and Quiznos have all used that spicy dark sauce. And now sister chains Checkers and Rally’s have included it in their new A.1. Buttery Steak Burger.

It features a classic beef patty, seasoned steak, Swiss cheese, onion anglers, and a creamy A.1. buttery sauce on a brioche bun.

The limited time offering has 660 calories, 43 grams of fat, 16 grams of saturated fat, 1.5 grams of trans fat, 65 milligrams of cholesterol, 1250 milligrams of sodium, 44 grams of carbohydrates, 1 gram of fiber, 11 grams of sugar, and 24 grams of protein.
