I can’t wait to try this in all the sweet dishes I use evaporated milk in. Okay, I lied. I have no idea what to use evaporated milk for. (Spotted by Amanda Y at Walmart.)
If you’re out shopping and see new products, snap a picture of them, and send them in via an email ([email protected]) with where you found them and “Spotted” in the subject line. Also, if you want to send in photos and are wondering if we’ve already covered something or if they’re new, don’t worry about it. Let us worry about it.

Couldn’t home cooks without access to this particular product get a similar flavor by just pureeing a bit of jalapeno in a food processor/mini chopper/blender and adding it to a can of regular evaporated milk? I’m trying to think of things I would want both evaporated milk and jalapenos in: maybe some sort of creamy/cheesy enchilada filling? A spicy grown-up macaroni & cheese? An omelet or frittata? (Not in mashed potatoes, though, please!)
Cornbread, mashed potatoes, etc.
You’re thinking of sweetened condensed milk lol
This would be great for making nacho cheese sauce, like this one: https://www.seriouseats.com/cheese-sauce-for-cheese-fries-and-nachos
savory bread pudding is the first idea after an initial *wtf?*.
scalloped or au gratin potatoes, also.
ooooh – corn chowder.
